Why Me Syndrome

I have noticed ( and I am guilty of doing it myself because I am not perfect) that people are continually complaining about the wrong things happening in their lives. I have to continually remind myself that the more I complain about it, the more wrong things happen in my life. So, I have implemented a little exercise in my life that might help others also. When things happen that are out of my expectations and out of my control, I take back my control by immediately replacing those complaints (verbally, I might add) with 3 things that are going right or 3 things I am grateful for. Life is only as hard as we make it. You have a choice whether to wallow in self pity and complain about everything that is going wrong OR start being grateful for the things that are good in your life. The more we are grateful for even the smallest of things and voice that gratitude, the more the Universe ( God, Divine, whatever form of faith you ascribe to) will send more good into your life. Imagine for a moment: you are a parent, spouse, partner and you surprise the person you love with a red rose. They immediately say. “Red, why are you giving me a red rose. You know my favorite color is purple?” or “why did you bring me a rose, you know I don’t like cut flowers, only live plants.” Think about how you would feel. That is exactly how the Divine feels when it sends challenges our way and all we do is complain about them. The Divine wants us to grow, prosper, and ascend to a higher level of vibration. It wants us to learn to overcome, even the smallest of challenges and continue to become the person we are meant to be here on this earth in this appointed time. I challenge you, next time you are faced with something that is uncomfortable, makes you upset or angry, instead of asking “WHY ME?”, ask what is the lesson you are trying to teach me? What part of me do I have to change to continue growing on my journey.

Many Blessings
